Course Description:
Lighting for learning is more than footcandles on a desktop. The new paradigm in educational architecture revolves around innovative learning concepts that acknowledge varied teaching and learning patterns. Learn what lighting techniques complement and enhance learning environments.
Learning Objectives:
1. Learn how light focuses attention to teaching or demonstration areas and how to adapt lighting to different demonstration and teaching media.
2. Learn the four principals guiding proper lighting in educational spaces.
3. Learn the importance of controlling glare in the teaching environment. Identify causes of direct glare, its effect on students, the remedy and how to apply UGR (Unified Glare Rating) metric table.
4. Learn how LED lighting spectrum technology affects our vision and circadian rhythms. Understand the Limbic® Emotional Assessment to learn lighting’s emotional connection to students.
